FIRST TIP

The University of Dallas men's basketball team will continue Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) play as the Crusaders host Trinity University on Friday at 5:30 p.m. UD will then host Schreiner University at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dallas is coming off a 2-0 weekend trip in Colorado this past weekend after taking care of business vs. Johnson & Wales University (CO) and Colorado College. The Crusaders will look to keep it rolling at home and improve its 2-3 record at the Maher Center this season.

UD NOTES

- Jai Love (St. Louis, Mo.) was named United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division I Player of the Week after he returned to the court and combined for 24 points in the trip to Colorado. 

- Dustin Mathis (Fort Worth, Texas) paced Dallas past Trinity last season 73-64 in Irving with 19 points. 

- UD last saw Schreiner in the Quarterfinal stage of the SCAC Men's Basketball Tournament last season. Dallas upset the No. 4 seeded Mountaineers 68-64 and helped propel them on a run to the Championship game. 

- Michael Wambsganss (Denver, Colo.) leads the Crusaders with 14.8 points-per-contest. 

- Dallas is 6-0 on the season when Love plays.


(Opponent Notes)

- Trinity University (4-7, 2-2 SCAC) is coming off an 81-60 dismantling of Centenary College last Saturday. The Tigers other conference win this season came against Southwestern University on December 30th. 

- The Tigers dished out 23 assists in their win over Centenary and has now totalled 20 or more assists in four games on the 2019-2020 campaign. 

- Trinity is averaging 76.5 points-per-game and has accumulated a 42.3 shooting percentage from the field.

- Jordan Lippman and Ben Hanley lead the team in scoring as they average 14.3 and 11.5 points-per-game, respectively. 

- The Tigers are 1-4 on the road this season.

- Schreiner University (3-8, 1-3 SCAC) fell 77-74 in its last game to the University of St. Thomas (TX) last weekend. 

- The Mountaineers swept both games of the regular season vs. Dallas a season ago (78-69, 83-62). 

- Four players average double-digit points for SU, with Matther Rindahl leading the way with 16.6 points-per-game. 

- SU is holidng opponents to 26.0% from behind the arc. 

- The Mountaineers are also 1-4 in true road games this season.

ALUMNI WEEKEND

UD welcomes all previous men's basketball players and families back to campus this weekend. Dallas will host its basketball alumni game on Sunday (1/12) for those back in town. 


ROAD AHEAD

Dallas will travel to South Texas to take on Texas Lutheran University and Southwestern University next weekend. UD will take on the Bulldogs on Friday (1/17) at 5:30 p.m. and the Pirates on Saturday (1/18) at 4:00 p.m.
