FIRST TIP

The University of Dallas men's basketball team finishes up its home portion of the 2018-19 season schedule this week. The trio of matchups begins on Tuesday with Centenary College at 7:30 p.m. after the women's game.

This contest pits two teams with identical records at 9-11 overall and 6-5 in the conference. Each are also 8-3 in the 2019 part of their seasons. Both squads are locked in a battle with the number three and four seeds, with Centenary holding the tiebreaker due to winning the earlier meeting this season.

Dallas has won two straight and started its long home stand with a convincing 89-70 victory that saw 18 different players appear. The team made a season-best 35 field goals and shot 50 percent in the first half, as a quintet of players scored double figures.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW FOR UD

- Michael Wambsganss (Denver, Colo.) has scored double figures in eight of the last 11 games. Dallas is 8-1 in games he has reached the double-digit points total and 8-3 overall in that span.

- The team has grabbed at least 40 rebounds in the last four games.

- Logan Fruhwirth (Waynesville, Ohio) continues to hold the top spot in the league for three-point percentage with a 48.9-clip.

SAAC CHANGE FOR CHANGE

Dallas' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be at all the University of Dallas home events this week collecting as much change as possible to donate to the annual SCAC "Change For The Better" campaign. This contest allows each SCAC member institution to collect as much change as possible from fans, parents, and students in support of a chosen charity the league is partnered with. The SCAC will be donating all proceeds to the Special Olympics.

SAAC will also be the weekend basketball games on Feb. 8 (5:30 p.m. | 7:30 p.m.) and Feb. 9 (4 p.m. | 6 p.m.). The group also will attend the women's lacrosse match at 1 p.m. on the 9th.
