#OTD in UD History: Softball Reaches 20 Wins; Both LAX Programs Set Scoring Records in a Game

On this date in the University of Dallas Athletics History:

April 11, 2015 – The Crusaders softball team swept Schreiner University in a doubleheader and swept the four-game conference series at home. It gave Dallas its second 20-win season in program history – tying a record. It also gave the program its highest SCAC win total. 

Katie Lee earned her 19th win to set the softball single-season record. That total ranked atop the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) and United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).

April 11, 2012 – The Crusaders men’s lacrosse team claimed a 22-6 victory over Centenary College. This set the school record for goals in a match at the time. It stood until 2019. Frank Sporleder scored seven goals, while Stephen Joseph notched a game-high 10 points thanks to a record-setting (at the time) six assists.

April 11, 2007 – Dallas softball edged Austin College 10-8 and 19-3 for a doubleheader sweep. Rachel Hoelker posted a 4-5, 5 RBI, while Sharlie Staab went 3-4, 4 RBI. The duo each ripped a pair of doubles.

April 11, 2006 – Dallas women’s lacrosse set the school scoring record with 21 goals for the first time in a 21-5 result over University of North Texas. Meghan Braun poured seven goals and tied Becky Harris with seven points. Harris netted five goals and assisted two of them. Anna Buoni chipped in four goals.
