DeCoud and Berezin named to USCAA National All-Academic Teams

UNIONTOWN, Pa. – During the championship banquet at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort on Tuesday night, the USCAA announced the 2018 USCAA Basketball National All-Academic team. National All-Academic team honors are awarded to student-athletes of sophomore standing or higher with at least a 3.5 GPA.

The University of Dallas placed two members of their basketball teams on the academic lists. Michelle DeCoud (Monument, Colo.) from women’s basketball and Solomon Berezin (League City, Texas) from men’s basketball qualified. This is the first time either of these players were awarded the accolade.

Both programs have been able to have a member of the team listed the last two seasons. Tom Kaiser (’17) represented men’s basketball three straight years.

DeCoud produced remarkable work on the court for Dallas, as she started all 25 games. The senior forward notched 17.2 points-per-game, 9.2 rebounds-per-contest, shot 46.9 percent from the field, and set an all-time school record 134 blocks.

Berezin appeared in 23 games. He totaled 64 points and swiped 13 steals. His season-high 15 points did come in his only start during a 90-76 victory at Hendrix College on November 21st.
