Three Former Crusaders Inducted into the 2017 Hall of Fame on Sunday

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas Athletics Department inducted three new members to the Hall of Fame on Sunday. This 2017 class marked the 20th year that Dallas has recognized and honored previous student-athletes and increased the total number of people in the UD Hall of Fame to 70.

The latest former players to be inducted included: Stuart “Stu” Brown (Class of ’08) from men’s soccer, Eric Creeger (’95) from men’s basketball, and Danielle Fuchs (’11) from volleyball. The trio were presented plaques and each had a moment to deliver a speech to those in attendance at the event held in the Rathskeller on campus. Those that attended included friends, family, and former colleagues of each of the inductees. Also present were team captains of each UD athletic program, athletic staff, and players from teams of who the inductees were being honored as playing with when they attended the institution.

Stuart Brown played soccer at the University of Dallas from 2005 through 2008, the most successful four year period in Men’s Soccer history winning 59 games as well as the 2007 Association of Division Three Independents Championship, the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship in 2008 and with it an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Brown contributed 35 goals and 20 assists for 99 points. He is third on the career list in all three of those categories.

Eric Creeger played basketball at the University of Dallas from 1991-92 through 1994-95 and was a member of the first UD team to record a postseason win and the first team with a winning record in modern UD basketball history. He holds school season records for blocks, 54, and blocks per game, 2.1, as well as those records for a career, 130 and 1.3. He is one of 15 players with over 1,000 points for a career with 1,035. His career rebounds of 700 place him second all-time and his 57.6 field goal shooting percentage places him third. In 1994-95, he was named an NAIA All American.

Danielle Fuchs was an outside hitter for the University of Dallas Volleyball team from 2008 to 2011 during which time she was a key to the success of the team in winning 79 matches, winning the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament in 2009. The 2010 team set school records for wins, 26, and winning percentage, .702, with a third place finish in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Championship where she was an All-Tournament Selection. Fuchs also was a NEAC 1st Team All-Conference Selection and a 1st Team Selection by the Association of Division 3 Independents.
