Bio

Destinee Johnson is the eighth head coach of the University of Dallas women's lacrosse program and has completed three seasons with the program. Johnson guided the team to a 4-10 record, which matched her highest total of wins from 2017.

Grabbing scoring headlines during Johnson's tenure was Lexi Leite, who entered the 2019 season as the third player in program history to eclipse 100 career goals. Her final career numbers for points (183) and goals (159) rank second all-time at UD. In additon, Johnson's watch this season saw a single-game draw controls record set by Alex Parkey with 22 against Oglethorpe University (Feb. 24, 2019). Erika Keever continued her strong player development with another career-best in goals (35), assists (5), and points (36) to rank second on the squad in each category. The senior also grabbed a personal-best 46 draw controls to reach 110 overall. 

Other notable player performances during Johnson's tenure were Emily Pauletti's 25 goals, which was the same number increased from her freshman season of learning to play women's lacrosse as a dual sport athlete. Another dual sport athlete, Mason Cosgrove, notched 2019 team-voted MVP as a midfielder. She was one-of-three Crusaders to win Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Player of the Weeks, which were the first for the program. Cosgrove and Ella Pedrozo were All-SCAC First Team selections, while Leite and Pauletti were named honorable mention, and again all were first-time achievements for any UD women's lacrosse member.

2018 team-voted MVP Keever has blossomed as a top offensive player during Johnson's tenure. Keever has combined 48 goals under Johnson's guidance, and is one of the top scorers with Leite. 

Keever was named to her second Independent Women's Lacrosse School (IWLS) all-conference team. Christiane Flynn earned her first selection.  

In 2017, the Crusaders did place six players on the All-IWLS Teams. In its inaugural year announcing postseason awards, Leite was on the first team. Frances Davis and Lizz Winkler earned spots on the second team. Keever, Gwen Mohler, and Julia Shinkle rounded out the sextet with honorable mentions. Winkler earned IWLS Defensive Player of the Week a couple weeks into her collegiate debut. 

Also under Johson's first season, the team tied a single game record of 21 goals versus Carroll University. In that same contest, the team set all-time highs in the program for assists (11) and points (42). Mohler set the single season record for assists with 13. 

Johnson arrives for her first head coach opportunity after serving as the assistant women's lacrosse coach at University of Alabama of Huntsville. In one season with Johnson on staff, the Chargers were able to boast a 14-4 overall record and 2-1 mark in conference games. This included a second-seed bid in the 2016 Gulf South Conference Invitational where the team prevailed over No. 3 Shorter University. UAH did fall to No. 1 Young Harris College to close the program's Inaugural campaign.

Johnson also served as an assistant lacrosse coach with BLU Lacrosse Club since May 2016.

Johnson earned her Bachelors in Sports Management in May, 2015 at Emmanuel College. While there, Johnson played women's lacrosse and was a team captain. She ranks 2^ndall-time in ground balls, CC All-Academic Team, and was a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative.
