Bio

Bri Sims enters her fourth season as the University of Dallas women’s basketball head coach. She joined the staff in March, 2019 as the 16th head coach.

Sims's finished her first season in 2020, posting a 3-22 record, notching her first head coach collegiate victory on November 19th at Southwestern Adventist University.  In her second year, Sims worked with a youthful roster, guiding a roster of 12 players that had nine true freshman and two sophomores. Sims headlined the UD postseason awards with SCAC Coach of the Year, the first by a UD women’s basketball coach and third by the school. The Crusaders 4-6 record and .400 winning percentage were the highest marks for the program since the 2016-17 season.

The 2021-22 season marked her third as head coach of the program and a return to a full schedule following the abbreviated 2020-21 season.  The Crusaders posted a 5-19 record on the year.

Sims previously served as an assistant coach at Hendrix College for three seasons. The Warriors garnered a combined 46-37 record with a pair of trips to the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championship Game. In her first season in Conway, the Warriors went 18-11 overall and earned a trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament after capturing the SAA Tournament Title.

Hendrix improved to 19-9 in 2017-18 and was edged in the SAA Championship by a point in overtime.

Sims coached the SAA Player of the Year and All-Conference First Team selection Sara Dyslin.

Before Hendrix, Sims spent three seasons at Bluffton University in Bluffton, Ohio as a graduate assistant. While there, she helped lead the Beavers to their first ever Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championship and trip to the NCAA Tournament on a 25-3 season in 2015-16. She coached four All-HCAC players and the all-time leading scorer, Macey Sheerer.

As a collegiate player, Sims lettered four years at the NCAA Division II University of Massachusetts Lowell. She was a career 83 percent free throw shooter and shot at a 37 percent clip from three-point territory.

In 2013, Sims graduated from UMass Lowell with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts with a Psychology & Sociology concentration.

Sims earned her Master of Business Administration with a Sports Management concentration in 2016 at Bluffton.
