Wilgenbusch Breaks 6K School Record; Wins Sixth-Straight Race at Bill Libby Invitational

ABILENE, Texas – The University of Dallas women's cross country team competed at the Bill Libby Invitational on Saturday. Anna Wilgenbusch (St. Paul, Minn.) won her sixth-straight race is as many competitions and also broke her own school record from last week in the 6k race finishing with a time of 22:23.4. Wilgenbusch continues to shine on the course as she broke her previous record of 22:41.80. Dallas finished sixth out of eight team competing with 129 points.

Emma Kate Callahan (Overland Park, Kan.) scored 11 points for UD finishing in 12th place and gathered a new Personal Record (PR) with a time of 24:47.0. Elizabeth Regnerus (Round Rock, Texas) and Mary Korth (McKinney, Texas) also notched PR's with times of 27:02.0 and 27:17.0, respectively.

Angelina Huffman ran her fastest time at this distance (27:54.9) in her third collegiate event.

Isabella Childs (Saint Mary's, Kan.), Maria Pecha (San Antonio, Texas), and Katie Winston (Phoenix, Ariz.) all grouped together in the middle of the pack each having successful outings and personal-best runs.

Hardin-Simmons University won the race with a team score of 58. Trinity University came in second (65), while UT-Dallas rounded out the top three with a 68.

Following behind Wilgenbusch was Sydney Tencate (Hardin-Simmons) who finished second (22:59.5) and Alexis Segura (LeTourneau University) who grabbed third (23:17.0).

Dallas will take a week off to prepare for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships (6k) on November 2nd held in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
