Wilgenbusch Earns SCAC and USCAA Runner of the Week Honors
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Anna Wilgenbusch (St. Paul, Minn.) from the University of Dallas women's cross country team was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Runner of the Week on Tuesday for her performance at the TLU Bulldog Invitational. That same afternoon, the freshman also was announced the Athlete of the Week for the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
Wilgenbush finished third overall this past weekend with a 21:09 in the 5k. Despite muddy conditions on the course, Wilgenbush led the Crusaders with the team's fastest time in their second meet of the fall. Dallas claimed second as a team.
The Week 3 SCAC-winner represented by Dallas is the programs first Runner of the Week since 2014 when Ruth Fritz and Clare Myers earned the mention.
Dallas is back on the trails this Saturday, September 22, at the OLLU Collegiate Cross Country Invitational.
