Women's Cross Country gets 2nd at TLU Bulldog Invitational; Wilgenbusch 3rd Place Overall

SEGUIN, Texas – The University of Dallas women's cross country team finished second at the TLU Bulldog Invitational on Saturday. Host Texas Lutheran University won with 30 points, while the Crusaders secured second with 42 points. Concordia University rounded out the top three places with 77, and Schreiner University scored 99 to complete the standings.

Stormy weather all week left the course in a difficult state to perform on, as competitors took on muddy surfaces. Anna Wilgenbusch (St. Paul, Minn.) paced Dallas with the fastest time in the second competition – both 5k's – on the season with a 21:09.56 time for 3rd overall.

Wilgenbusch led a trio of Crusaders cracked the top 10 with Sabrina Lucio (Chino, Calif.) taking 5th on a 22:07.52 time. Clare Hernandez (Dade City, Fla.) checked in 7th with a 22:45.6.

Katie Dieteman (Erie, Pa.), Amy Foote (Saint Paul, Minn.), Mary Korth (McKinney, Texas), and Courtney Nguyen (Houston, Texas) were the other participants for UD, and all finished within a span of five spots.

Emily Villines from Concordia University won the race with a 20:13.77 time. TLU's Ashley Rynard took second with a 21:00.79.
