Women's Cross Country Results at Codfish Bowl

BOSTON, Mass. – The University of Dallas women's cross country team finished ninth place out of 12 teams Saturday in the 46th annual Codfish Bowl Cross Country competition hosted in Franklin Park. Dallas would finish with 220 points and averaged a team total time of 21:19.60 minutes in the 5k.

161 competitors participated in this race on Saturday, and headlining for the Lady Crusaders with a collegiate personal record (PR) of 20:00 minutes was freshman Bridget Kennedy (San Antonio, Texas). It is the second consecutive race the rookie has led all UD runners and notched 17th place with her result.

Senior Ruth Fritz (Boise, Idaho) notched a season-best time of 21:21 minutes for Dallas. Fellow teammate Emma Polefko (Cypress, Texas) was nearly behind also with a season PR, tallying a 21:36 minute time.

Freshman Caroline Schemel (Greencastle, Pa.) chipped in a score of 21:41 minutes.

Winning the overall competition individually was Alice Wasserman for Tufts University with a 19:01 time. Phillips Andover had two competitors round out the top three with Carmen Bango being tabbed in second with a 19:05 minute result and Michaela Jones with a 19:11.

Tufts won the team standings with 31 points and averaged 19:26.40 minutes. Phillips Andover claimed second with 94 points and a 19:59.80 average. Merrimack College took third with 99 points and averaged 20:08.60 minutes.
