Whyte Tabbed UD Volleyball MVP

IRVING, Texas – Dayjah Whyte (Round Rock, Texas) was named the Team MVP for the University of Dallas volleyball team this 2021 spring season. Whyte was the top producer on the Crusaders with 139 kills in 51 sets played (2.73 k/set). She hit .221 and also provided the top blocking with 32 total. This included five solo blocks. Whyte also totaled nine service aces, which was tied for second with two other players and one shy of the team-best.

Whyte checked in seventh in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference for kills-per-set and her 32 blocks tied for 14th. She ranked second in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) in kills, third in hitting percentage (.221), and fourth in blocks per set (0.63).

In the UD record books, Whyte is third averaging 2.83 kills and 13th all-time in total kills with 838. Her career .262 hitting percentage ranks fifth in the program. Whyte just cracks the top 15 in total blocks with 165.

Whyte was named to the All-SCAC Third Team.
