SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Dallas volleyball team held off Schreiner University on Sunday afternoon 25-19, 25-17, 25-12 for the straight-set sweep. The Mountaineers kept close midway through the match (14-11). UD went on a 4-0 run to grab a considerable lead (18-11). Abigail Porras (El Paso, Texas) and Dayjah Whyte (Round Rock, Texas) led Dallas down the stretch with key kills to take set one.

Dallas again grabbed the early lead (5-0) in set two. The Crusaders kept the lead, but Schreiner clawed back to get within two (12-10) after a Kylee Jo Scott kill. Schreiner kept close until Dallas grabbed some breathing room when they were able to go on a 3-0 run. Whyte had a kill along with two Schreiner errors (20-14). Porras took the final three points of the set with a kill and two service aces to secure the 2-0 set lead for UD.
