Whyte Wins SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Dayjah Whyte of Dallas, a freshman middle blocker from Round Rock, Texas, has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 1st to Sunday, October 7th. 

Whyte led the Crusaders to a 3-1 record this week in non-conference play. The freshman posted a .392 hitting percentage while averaging 3.93 kills/set. In all three victories, Whyte registered double-digit kills highlighted by a career-best 22 at Randall. Whyte also combined for six blocks and five service aces. With 14 victories thus far this season, the Crusaders have posted their highest win total since 2014.

Overall, Whyte has paced the UD offense with 219 kills (2.92 per set) to rank fifth in the league. In 22 matches (75 sets), the freshman has hit .310 with 21 service aces, and 34 blocks. She has garnered double-digits in kills during 12 contests, including the last three. 

Whyte is the 4th player for the Crusaders to be named SCAC Offensive Player of the Week since Dallas became a member in 2011-12. The most recent time Dallas had a player notch the accolade was in 2013.
