Koster Chosen on CoSIDA All-Academic All-District 8 Team

IRVING, Texas – University of Dallas senior Jessie Koster (Sherwood, Ore.) added to her end of the year accolades by being selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Volleyball Division III Academic All-District 8 First Team. The libero was one of six student-athletes in the district voted to the list by members of CoSIDA.

Koster becomes the fourth player since the awards inception to earn it from Dallas. She is the first volleyball Crusader to achieve recognition. It is the second straight year an athlete from UD has been selected on the Academic All-District Team, as Barton Holdridge from men's soccer claimed the honor in 2015.

Koster has produced another career season, leading the league in total digs and digs-per-set all season. She finished the regular season with 806 digs – enough to break her own school record in single-season digs – and is averaging a 7.46-clip. Koster also shattered the career record in total digs and currently boasts 2,832.

She dug 48 balls twice this fall, which tied the 5th all-time most in a single match for the SCAC. The first match occurred at LeTourneau University (September 29), and at home versus Austin College (October 9). According to the latest NCAA Division III rankings, Koster was first in digs and digs-per-set and has led the majority of the campaign.

Off the court, Koster is majoring in biology with a focus in the pre-dental program. She plans to attend dentistry school after graduation in spring 2017. Koster earned a 3.82 cumulative grade-point average.

Dallas is 13-19 overall this season and will play Austin College in the SCAC Tournament on November 4. First serve is at 10:30 a.m.
