Smith earns USCAA Setter of the Week

NORFOLK, Va. – Elizabeth Smith (Broken Arrow, Okla.) of the University of Dallas earns this week's Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week honors for the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). Smith notches her first weekly accolades of her career and is first member since Jessie Koster (Sherwood, Ore.) was named the final week of 2015 for athlete of the week.

Smith nearly broke the University of Dallas record for assists in a single match with 61 in a five-set victory against Austin College. Set in 2004, the school record is 70 by Ashli Randl vs. University of Texas at Tyler (September 11, 2004).

Smith compiled 113 assists (10.27 per set), and 29 digs as the Crusaders went 2-1 in a home conference divisional last weekend. Dallas picked up victories over Centenary College and Austin College to take sole possession of fifth place in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC).

Dallas continues a four-game home stand with Arlington Baptist College at 7 p.m.
