CONWAY, Ark. - The University of Dallas women's track and field team competed in the Hendrix College Alumni Invitational on Saturday.

Miranda Roach and Jessie Ramirez were the lone competitors for the Crusaders in the meet.  Originally scheduled to run the 800 meters, Roach instead was placed in the 1500 meters, running the race for the first time in her career.  She finished with a time of 6:37.79.

Jessie Ramirez competed in the shot put, discus, and the javelin throw.  She was 0.4m from tying her PR in the shot put with a mark of 6.40m.  In the discus, she set a new PR with a mark of 18.30m, crushing her previous record of 15.66m.  She did not acheive marks in the javelin throw.

"This was another great meet for the team; the athletes were more relaxed this time around and had lots of fun again," said head coach Nick Schneigert.  "The team chemistry is there.  We will take a week off, and now that we've had a few meets under our belt  I am exited to seee how things turn out at our next meet."
