Crusaders Show Out at Dan Veach Invitational

MAGNOLIA, Ark. - The University of Dallas women's track and field team competed in the Southern Arkansas University Dan Veach Invitational on Saturday.

Anna Wilgenbusch dominated the 5000 meters again, taking first place with a time of 18:20.94, nearly two full minutes faster than second place Dakota Cassidy from Southern Arkansas.  Monica Voltin also ran the 5000 meters for Dallas, finishing in 23:02.95.  Kaycie Willis was excellent in the shot put, placing fifth in the field of 20 throwers with a mark of 11.01 meters.  She also recorded a 28.81 meter mark in the discus, good enough for 12th place.

Caitlin Smith took second in the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.56, one second behind Kamrin Hooks from Southern Arkansas.  She also placed 10th in the 200 meters with a time of 27.06.  Agnes Hernandez took home a second place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:37.39, a second and a half of the winner Allyson Edwards from Philander Smith.  

The 4x400 relay team also competed, finishing in the middle of the pack with a time of 4:33.08.

The Crusaders haver next weekend off and will be back in action on Sautrday, April 9 at the East Texas Invitational.
