Wilgenbusch Places Third in 1 Mile and 5000 Meter races to lead Dallas at TLU D3 Challenge

SEGUIN, Texas - The University of Dallas women's track and field team competed at the TLU D3 Challenge in Seguin, Texas on Saturday. Anna Wilgenbusch (St. Paul, Minn.) finished third overall in the 1 mile run (5:49.93) and set a Personal Record (PR) in 5000 meter race (19:34.77).

- This was the first meet UD competed in this season that hosted the 1 Mile instead of the 1500 meter race. Wilgenbusch set a 5:49.93 mark in that race.

- This was the first time of her career that Wilgenbusch broke 20 minutes in the 5k. She also was 0.7 seconds off of a school record in the 1 Mile.

- Athena Garnica (Phoenix, Ariz.) notched a PR in javelin with a 25.20 meter throw.

- Mary Korth (McKinney, Texas) set a PR by a minute in the 5000 meter (21:54.36) for sixth-best and also ran a PR in the 800 meter (2:49.11) for eighth place.

- Brenda Mendoza (Dumas, Texas) ran a season-best 2:49.11 in the 800 meter race.

- Anna Brunk (Lemont, Ill.) made her season-debut in the 400 meter hurdles. She came in eighth with a time of 1:15.11.

- Clare Hernandez (Dade City, Fla.) made her season-debut in the 300 meter steeplechase. Hernandez ran a 13:05.84 mark.

- Hannah Green (Mission Viejo, Calif.) and Brunk both had season-bests in pole vault. Brunk finished fourth with a mark of 2.88 m. Green came in fifth with a 2.73 meter effort.
