Women's Track and Field Trinity Open Results; Hassink 3rd in Shot Put

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of Dallas women's track and field team began the 2018 season at the Trinity Open on Saturday. Diana Hassink (Tulsa, Okla.) claimed the highest spot for the Crusaders individually in the Shot Put with third place thanks to a 10.98 Meter throw. Jules Oliveti (Southlake, Texas) debuted with a 9.35m for ninth. She was the top distance in her flight.

The dual-athlete for women's basketball hit the best distance for UD in her first meet in the discus with a 27.80m. That result took 11th, and Hassink followed a spot behind with a 26.77m. Grace Conti (Boxford, Mass.) completed a trio of throwers on the discus. She was the lone Dallas participant on the javelin.

Anna Brunk (Lemont, Ill.) and Hannah Green (Mission Viejo, Calif.) represented Dallas in the Pole Vault for the first time in 14 seasons. The duo each broke the program's record by clearing 8'0" set by Kristin Condotta at the University of Dallas Invitational on April 3rd, 2004. Brunk notched fifth with a 2.65m (8'8.25") result to set the new record. Green cleared 2.50m (8'2.5"). 

Green also ran in the 200 Meter-Dash.

Emma Kate Callahan (Overland Park, Kan.), Clare Hernandez (Dade City, Fla.), and Amy Foote (Saint Paul, Minn.) ran the 1500m in their first collegiate meet. Callahan and Hernandez were the top two UD runners in 18th and 19th at 5:36.37 and 5:40.43, respectively. Foote etched a 6:03.23 time, and Mary Korth rounded out a quartet for the squad on the event with a 6:21.16 time. Hernandez and Foote raced for the second and fourth fastest times in same section.

Dallas performed in the 4x400m relay and compiled a 4:45.84 time.
