Women's Track and Field results at East Texas Time Trials

TYLER, Texas - The University of Dallas women's track and field team competed in the East Texas Time Trials on Friday. Several personal records highlighted a nice debut to the campaign for the Crusaders.

On the two mile event, senior Clare Myers (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) set a record with a 12:24 result and notched second place in the race. Freshman Angela Moore (Austin, Texas) was just two seconds off, 12:58.41, the previous two mile record that was broken by Clare moments prior.

Moore debuted with a third place finish and was among a quartet of top-10 finishers in the same event.

Right behind the competitors mentioned above were senior Colleen Slattery (Middle Ridge, Wis.) and junior Elizabeth Hinchley (Magnolia, Texas) nabbing 4th and 6th, respectively.

Four seniors collected a second-place finish in the Distance Medley Relay that included: Myers, Danielle Pajak (Pagosa Springs, Colo.), Slattery, and Michelle DeRoche (Lemont, Ill.). The unit posted a time of 14:20.45 to slot in that spot in the standings.

Also making a nice showing was sophomore Lizzie Depew (Grove City, Pa.) gaining 2nd overall in the 100 meter hurdles. Her score tallied as 17.60 seconds.

Dallas returns to action on Feb. 28 at the Trinity Open in San Antonio, Texas.
