Matt Buchhorn balloted 2013 SCAC Women's Track & Field 'Co-Coach of the Year'

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Exclusive voting by the head coaches of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) has determined Matt Buchhorn as a 2013 SCAC Women's Track & Field Co-Coach-of-the-Year.

Buchhorn, a second-year head coach, led Dallas to a second-place finish at this year's conference championship meet. This fete equalled the school's best-ever finish in any sport since joining the conference prior to the 2011-12 academic year. The Lady Crusaders placed second in the 4x100 relay and recorded three individual All-SCAC performances en route to the team's runner-up finish.

Trinity University first-year head coach Marcus Whitehead was also Co-Coach-of-the-Year. Under his direction, Trinity placed first in all 18 individual events and also won both relays. They Lady Tigers accumulated an SCAC-record 368 points at the 2013 conference championship meet. The team's margin of victory (277) also set a new conference meet record as Trinity won its first conference women's track title since 2007 and eighth overall.
