Avery Seaman Sends The Roos Packing

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's soccer team extended their winning streak to three games by defeating Austin College 2-0 at home.

The numbers don't often tell the whole story, but one only need to look at the shot totals to see that the Crusaders were, by far, the dominant force on the pitch today.  Kaitlyn Vess hardly touched the ball at all between the sticks, while the Crusaders peppered the Roos goal with shots all game, outshooting Austin 25-2.  For all their dominacne, though, it almost seemed that fate would cruelly deny them the end result as they had failed to score even as the second half wore on.

After a slew of "nearly there" chances, the Crusaders finally had their reward, as Avery Seaman scored a screamer of a goal that found the side netting from the top of the box in the 71st minute.  Though their one goal lead truly seemed like it would be enough, the Crusaders did not sit on their laurels as they looked for more.  It was Seaman yet again who would put the icing on the cake for UD, as she scored a poacher's goal from just about eight yards out with less than three minutes on the clock to effectively decide the match.  The Crusaders would see out a comfortable 2-0 win, their second 2-0 win in a row against Austin College, and their fourth straight win.
