Mencacci (2nd Team); Lien Le (3rd Team) Named to United Soccer Coaches All-Region

IRVING, Texas – A pair of University of Dallas women's soccer players, Alyssa Mencacci (League City, Texas) and May Lien Le (Katy, Texas), were named to the United Soccer Coaches Division III All-West Region Teams. Mencacci was named All-West Region Second Team, while Lien Le got tabbed All-West Region Third Team. This was the first time the duo received All-Region accolades and first for the UD Women's Soccer Program.

Mencacci headlined a resurgent Crusaders season that saw the team win 10 games, which tied its highest total since 2014. The freshman notched a team-high 18 points and eight goals on the campaign. This included a goal in the team's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Quarterfinal. Mencacci also scored a team-leading four game-winners. The SCAC Newcomer-of-the-Year was a two-time offensive player of the week recipient. Mencacci also was honored with United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) All-American First Team.

Lien Le anchored a defense that only allowed 22 goals (20 of them tied 2nd in SCAC with three other teams through the regular season) and posted the league's fourth best goals-against-average (1.13). This included five shutouts that were part of a same-length winning streak in October that highlighted a 6-1 month. Overall, UD has amassed eight shutouts and held on for two ties after coming back in the second half. At one juncture, the Crusaders defense had not allowed a goal in 477:25 minutes. Lien Le was the lone UD women's soccer player named to the First Team All-SCAC and was a USCAA All-American for consecutive years.

Dallas went on to produce a 10-7-2 overall record and 5-2-1 SCAC mark. Third-year head coach Lexi Stinson guided the team to its most wins in her tenure and back-to-back SCAC Semifinal Appearances.
