Crusaders Top Concorida University (TX) on Road; Mencacci Finds Netting in 4th Straight Match

AUSTIN, Texas - The University of Dallas women's soccer team prevailed 2-1 over Concordia University on Sunday afternoon. Dallas (3-2-1) improved to better than .500 for the first time since finishing 2014 with a 10-9-1 record. The Crusaders have gone 3-0-1 in the last four outings over the past two weekends. 

Alyssa Mencacci (League City, Texas) scored in her fourth straight match to give her a personal-best four goals. Her goal on an assist from Gigi Garcia Orozco (San Antonio, Texas) came with 22:46 left in the first half. 

Dallas carried a 1-0 lead through the break and got the deciding goal from Elisa Duran (Pomona, Calif.) with around 23 minutes to go. Mencacci tallied her first career assist and got her third point in the game. Mencacci now has a team-high nine points. 

The Tornados (0-6) got a goal back with 16 and a half minutes remaining on a penalty kick, but could not find the equalizer. 

Olivia Severson (La Crosse, Wis.) picked up her third win as the goalkeeper, making six saves in 90 minutes. 

This win for Dallas marked the 200th for the program.
