2019 Schedule Announced for UD Women's Soccer

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas women's soccer team announced its 2019 schedule that includes 18 matches. Dallas is home for its first three contests and five-of-six that includes a final home tilt toward late September against fellow Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) foe Schreiner University. The Crusaders will play 10 times at the friendly confines on the ledger with five dates in October.

This fall will mark the second year UD plays at its new soccer facility that was done last summer and features lights for night contests. Dallas picked up all three of its 2018 wins at the friendly confines and were 3-3-1 overall. This included a couple one-goal thrillers over SCAC foes Schreiner (1-0) and Austin College (2-1) and a tie over third-place Texas Lutheran University.

A pair of matches on the final dates of August mark the beginning the Crusaders campaign with the season and home opener on the 30th versus North Lake College. The next day, UD hosts Howard Payne University, who's men's squad will play the Crusaders in their season opener as well. Dallas finishes up the early home stand on Sept. 6 against LeTourneau University, where third-year head coach Lexi Stinson coached as an assistant before joining UD.

The first road match of the fall season will be at Austin College (Sept. 13) in a non-conference countable result. UD returns home and plays the next two weekends once at home with McMurry University (Sept. 15) and Schreiner (Sept. 20). Following that, the Crusaders will play their longest road stretch with five that caps the month off with a trio of matches at Concordia University (22nd), SCAC-newcomer University of St. Thomas (TX) (27th), and Centenary College (29th).

The SCAC matches during this span in September will not count towards the conference records. A new format due to the number of programs in the league have each team play one another just once where the result is countable in the conference standings.

The SCAC-opening weekend is October 4, where the Crusaders will be at Southwestern University. Two days later, they wrap up the season-long road trip at Texas Lutheran University.

UD follows the lengthy road stretch with a season-long home stand that will be five games spanned through the duration of the month. The Crusaders host Austin College on Oct. 11 with this meeting being countable towards conference. Johnson & Wales University (CO) visits on the 18th. A final non-conference match against Southwestern Assemblies of God University splits up the quartet of league matches in the stretch at the friendly confines. Centenary College and St. Thomas conclude the home slate on the 25th and 27th, respectively. The final home match should be "Senior Day" for the Crusaders.

Dallas ends the regular season on the road at reigning SCAC Regular Season and SCAC Tournament Champion Trinity University and Schreiner on November 1 and 3.

On Nov. 8-10, the top six teams in the SCAC standings will compete at the conference tournament held at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.

Last season, Stinson would lead Dallas to its first SCAC Tournament appearance since 2015 and guided the sixth-seeded team to an advancement over third-seeded Texas Lutheran thanks to a 4-2 advantage in penalty kicks. The final score after double overtime was 2-2.
