Women's Soccer celebrates Four All-Americans

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) announced its All-American award winners for women's soccer division 1 and 2. The University of Dallas had all four of its nominations selected with Elisa Duran (Pomona, Calif.) and May Lien Le (Katy, Texas) being placed on First Team. Monica O'Donnell (Lincoln, Neb.) earned a spot on the Second Team, while Katia Guzman (Pearland, Texas) received honorable mention.

The Crusaders last had a recipient for USCAA All-Americans in 2013 when Brigid Hasson and Nicole Johnson were each named. A year before in 2012, a quartet was announced for Dallas to the All-American Teams.

Duran and Lien Le have each been collecting the top honors so far with the duo each on All-SCAC Second Team and conference All-Tournament team.

Duran was the leader on the team with four goals and 11 points. Her biggest match this year was a hat trick to non-conference team Howard Payne University. She also had the clincher in the shootout for UD to advance to the SCAC Semifinals.

Lien Le contributed three goals and two assists for eight points. The last goal from her freshman season was the tournament match with Texas Lutheran University.

O'Donnell added two goals and one assist for five points. She was also a SCAC All-Conference winner.

Guzman was steady in the backline with 17 starts in all matches. Her assist came in a 2-1 final over Austin College. Guzman worked one shutout and four ties this season to achieve her reflection of top play on the defensive side of the pitch.

Dallas finished as the sixth-seed but battled Texas Lutheran to a 2-2 draw, and would end up being a shootout to determine who advances.
