SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The No. 6 Seed University of Dallas was defeated 2-0 by the No. 2 Seed Southwestern University in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) on Paul McGinlay Field, which is home to Trinity University. After pulling a huge upset Friday thanks to a shootout, the Crusaders (3-11-4) were unable to keep the momentum against Southwestern.

The Pirates (11-5) scored once each half and were able to keep their opponent off the scoreboard for the third meeting this season. Maya Fuller put Southwestern ahead at the 25:46 minute mark.

Dallas kept the margin 1-0 heading into halftime, despite being outshot 8-2. Both UD's attempts were not on goal. There was an offside whistled with under six minutes in the half, which the lower seed got called for three times on.

Katey Ewton put the match away in the 51st minute, as the Pirates went on to the Championship match with host school and top-seeded Trinity University. Southwestern outshot UD 12-4 and Mary Cardone had a clean sheet with no shots faced on goal.

Olivia Severson (La Crosse, Wis.) made three saves against five shots faced in a complete game.

Dallas' overall postseason matchup record dropped to 1-1-1, as these programs last played to a scoreless draw in Irving in 2015.

Dallas has concluded the 2018 season, with head coach Lexi Stinson completing her second season.
