KICKOFF

The University of Dallas women's soccer team begins a stretch of four away games over the next two weeks with a trip back out west to Denver, Colorado. After playing three matches on two different trips earlier this year in California and New Mexico, the Crusaders (3-5-1, 2-3 SCAC) will take on Johnson & Wales University in the Rocky Mountain State.

Dallas is enjoying recent success after picking up its first two wins in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) play on the recent three-game home stand. UD edged Schreiner University (1-0) and Austin College (2-1) by a goal, with all the scoring coming from freshmen. Maddie Rodriguez (Houston, Texas) and Anisa Meza (Helotes, Texas) came up big with the scoring results in the Crusaders first home win over the 'Roos since 2014.

UD NOTES

- Elisa Duran (Pomona, Calif.) is the team leader in goals (3), assists (3), and points (9). She has also taken 20 shots and placed half of them on frame.

- Monica O'Donnell (Lincoln, Neb.) was named United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Player of the Week. She netted the game-winner in Friday's 1-0 result over Schreiner and now has three points on the season.

- Olivia Severson (La Crosse, Wis.) earned USCAA Goalkeeper of the Week. The junior in her last three starts has combined for 26 saves – catching at least seven in each match. She ranks fourth in the league for total saves (40) and fifth in save percentage (.727).

A LOOK BACK

- These teams met earlier this season for the SCAC opener in Irving, Texas.

- Rainy weather left the field wet that night and had an effect on the playing surface.

- After a scoreless first half, the teams combined for five goals in the next stanza.

- May Lien Le (Katy, Texas) netted her first collegiate goal in the match.

- Dallas fell short 3-2 in the second half battle and missed a couple last chance efforts that were just off mark.
