Women's Soccer Suffers Non-Conference Setback on Saturday

HOBBS, N.M. - The University of Dallas women's soccer team fell 4-0 on Saturday in a non-conference match at NAIA University of the Southwest. Dallas dropped to 1-4-1 on the season, while the Mustangs improved to 3-2 in their home opener.

Nevarez grabbed a hat trick for University of the Southwest, scoring the first three goals by halftime to lead the charge. Garcia added the final tally.

The guests were barely outshot 15-13, and placed 12 shots on goal. However, USW's goalie Avendano turned away all 12 for saves in the clean sheet. Elisa Duran (Pomona, Calif.) tied a game-high five shots and landed four on frame. Sydney Stirling (McLean, Va.) and Whitney Jackson (Pryor, Okla.) added a pair of shots on goal each. Olivia Severson (La Crosse, Wis.) played the full 90 minutes in goal the first time this season and nabbed six saves.
