No. 6 Trinity tops Women's Soccer in SCAC Opener on Friday

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of Dallas women's soccer team fell 6-0 at No. 6 Trinity University on Friday. The Crusaders surrendered four goals in the opening 45 minutes and only had three shots the duration of the match. Trinity improved to 5-1 and 1-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) opener. Dallas dropped consecutive matches and are 1-4-1 and 0-1 after its first conference game of the campaign.

The Crusaders defense held strong throughout the first 23 minutes of the game. Chelsea Cole broke the deadlock at 23:33 minutes into the half with Meredith Licata tallying the assist. Cole was responsible for a hat trick and finished the evening with a game-high 10 shots.

Licata scored the second Trinity goal near the top of the 31st minute. Over the next five minute stretches, the top 10 ranked squad doubled the advantage to make it 4-0 going to intermission. A corner kick by Hannah Booher went to Cole and then Halleanne Dure finished the sequence. Cole etched her second goal of the frame with just under five remaining in the half. She quickly got her third goal about six minutes in with Julia Camp finding her on the helper. Camp scored the final goal for the Tigers at the 70:44 minute mark.

Elena Naccari (Covington, La.) collected 17 saves in 90 minutes. She was one save shy of tying a personal-best two years ago against University of Texas at Tyler on September 1st, 2015. Nacarri broke 300 career saves during the match. The senior also surpassed Jennifer Sippel-Boryca (298) to move to third all-time in the program.

The Crusaders had three different players attempt a shot, but none were on frame.
