Women's Soccer drops 3-0 Match at Centenary Sunday

SHREVEPORT, La. – The University of Dallas (4-11-2, 1-8-2 SCAC) dropped a 3-0 contest on Sunday at Centenary College (6-9, 3-8 SCAC) to wrap up a five-game road trip. The Crusaders move to 1-2-2 on this past two week stretch.

The Crusaders posted a narrow 9-8 edge in shots the first half, but a goal by Hannah Jo Wright at the 14:19 minute mark lifted the home side ahead for the rest of the game. From about 35 yards out, Wright lifted a ball that went into the top right corner of the net for the game winner. Marissa Hughes was credited with an assist.

The Ladies attempted the first five shots on the match before Dallas countered with a trio of its own. Elisa Duran (Pomona, Calif.) kicked the first one at the 8:34 mark. Chelsea Reeh (Boerne, Texas) and Cascade Mayer (Kapaa, Hawaii) posted the others in a five minute span. All looks were saved by Centenary's goalie Erica Coker. Seven of UD's nine shots in the opening stanza were on frame and included six of the first seven.

The Maroon and White garnered a 12-6 shot advantage in the second half. An early goal at 47:09 by Hughes pushed Centenary's lead 2-0. A goal under 10 minutes concluded the scoring as Kati-Jayde Cunningham tallied the netter. Hughes assisted that scoring play to give her four points.

When Dallas trailed by two, Reeh notched the Crusaders' first shot of the half just over 10 minutes in with a save by Coker preventing a chance at cutting the margin. The Crusaders were unable to get on the board despite placing 10 shots on goal in the game.
