Women's Soccer battles Austin College to 0-0 Result on Friday

SHERMAN, Texas – The University of Dallas women's soccer team (4-10-2, 1-7-2 SCAC) battled Austin College (3-11-2, 1-8-2) on Friday afternoon to a scoreless draw. This is the second consecutive conference matchup that the Crusaders have resulted in a 0-0 final. Both teams remain deadlocked in sixth place of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) standings with five points.

The home team earned the first three shots after the start of the clock, before Chelsea Reeh (Boerne, Texas) had a shot blocked in the 13th minute. Dallas fired the next pair of shots with Ella Pedrozo (Austin, Texas) missing a header left and Cascade Mayer (Kapaa, Hawaii) shooting high. That final effort was at the 14:55 minute mark, and the next shot by a Crusader was just under five minutes later on a shot by Elisa Duran (Pomona, Calif.) that was turned away by Laura McGee.

Dallas posted a team-high six shots in the first half, but were playing on the defensive side of the ball throughout the contest. The 'Roos generated 12 shots in both 45-minute halves to outdo UD 24-10 by the final buzzer in regulation.

In the first overtime, the team's combined for three fouls before Reeh shot wide left in the 96th minute. A little over a minute later AC's Sarah Battles missed left and Duran countered with a shot on goal with around two minutes until the final break. Kate Vidmos (Bedford, Texas) would get the road squad's lone shot in the second overtime blocked less than a minute in, and the Crusaders smothered the final four Austin College game-winning efforts. This included two shots saved by UD's Olivia Severson (La Crosse, Wis.) at the 106:40 and 108:49 marks.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

- Dallas was outshot 29-13.

- Leading UD individually was new conference and school record holder in single-game scoring (6 goals) Reeh. The freshman led with five total attempts.

- Reeh and Duran each tallied two of the four shots on goal for the guests.

- Elena Naccari (Covington, La.) made the start in goal. She worked the first half and made three saves. Severson handled the remainder of the game and posted five saves. This is the second time in the past three matches, the duo has worked this combination of length.

- Battles posted a game-high eight shots and landed three on target. Erin Eckart followed with six and chipped her only shot on goal with one of the final kicks near the end of double OT.

- Laura McGee (3-11-2) posted a clean sheet with four saves in 110 minutes.
