Record-Setting Night for Reeh lifts Women's Soccer at Southwestern Adventist

KEENE, Texas – The University of Dallas women's soccer team (4-10-1) found themselves in a last minute additional match on Tuesday night at Southwestern Adventist University. The Crusaders took advantage of the non-conference opponent, boasting their highest scoring match since LeTourneau University at home on September 12, 2004, by tying nine goals in a shutout win. The strength of UD's offense was a record-breaking six goals from Chelsea Reeh (Boerne, Texas).

Dallas has posted consecutive shutouts, counting the scoreless tie two days ago at Texas Lutheran University. The Crusaders defense has gone a season-long 240:12 minutes without allowing a goal to the opposition.

Reeh got the offense going in about the eighth minute with an unassisted goal she took herself beating the keeper on the left side. A little while later into the stanza, Cascade Mayer (Kapaa, Hawaii) took a free kick and deflected the ball off the top of the keeper's gloves into the upper part of the net. That was the senior's first goal of this campaign.

Not too long later, Reeh was sneaking another goal in as Aileen Machado (Dallas, Texas) and Miranda Lozano (Richardson, Texas) started the sequence down field on the right side. Reeh captured the first hat trick by a women's soccer player since Nicole Johnson ('14) netted the first three of UD's in the above mentioned LeTourneau tilt.

Dallas came out of the break with a four-goal lead, which already tied a season-high set twice this fall. The Crusaders more than doubled that total scoring in the second half with five goals. In the LeTourneau meeting that was 9-1, UD posted six goals in the second stanza. On Tuesday, it was all Reeh again with consecutive goals in just over 10 minutes from the start.

Mayer netted her second goal before Reeh broke the new SCAC and school single-match record just over the 60th minute. The previous mark was five and shared with Johnson and Claire Sexton. The duo each blasted five goals as part of a 12-0 victory against Dallas Christian College on October 21, 2011. Reeh joins the tandem for a three-way tie in the record books for points in a single-game (12).

Machado completed the big scoring night with her first collegiate goal.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

- Dallas set a season-high 46 shots, which was the most since taking 53 in 2015 at home versus Sul Ross State University. UD has logged over 20 shots on four occasions this campaign. The team is 4-0 when taking 20 or more shots.

- Reeh powered the offense with 17 shots and 12 on frame. Mayer was just under double-digits with nine attempts and six on target. She added a pair of assists for six points.

- Elena Naccari (Covington, La.) took the start in goal for UD split time in the first half with Olivia Severson (La Crosse, Wis.). Tori Fleharty (Richmond, Texas) garnered the final 45 minutes and faced both shots on goal for the Knights.
