Women's Soccer earns Draw at Texas Lutheran on Sunday

SEGUIN, Texas – The University of Dallas women's soccer team (3-10-1, 1-7-1 SCAC) earned a scoreless draw on Sunday at Texas Lutheran University (6-3-4, 4-2-3 SCAC). The Crusaders last tied on the road in 2014 at Southwestern University, which was also scoreless. The tie against the Bulldogs gave UD a crucial point to lift them in a tie with Austin College (4) in the conference standings.

Dallas withstood an early barrage of shots in the first half by the home squad, as TLU attempted 12 by intermission. UD's starting goalkeeper Elena Naccari (Covington, La.) made five saves and helped keep the match deadlocked through that juncture.

In the second half, the Crusaders attempted a team-high five shots and placed two on goal. Kicking the balls on target for the road team were Kasaundra Eason (Henderson, Nev.) and Mackenzie Vasile (San Antonio, Texas). UD was unable to find the back of the net, but defensively worked hard to keep the Bulldogs from getting a game winner. In the 81st minute, the Crusaders made a team save on the goal line to keep the game knotted. The corner kick that followed resulted in nothing, and a final shot in regulation by Eason at the 83:28 minute mark was wide.

In extra time, both teams hit a shot in the first overtime. After a winner was still undetermined at the next break, the Bulldogs' lone shot went high within the first minute. Elisa Duran (Pomona, Calif.) had an attempt go wide left and Cascade Mayer (Kapaa, Hawaii) was blocked on the game's final shot in under a minute.  At the end of the last horn, the scoreboard remained 0-0.
