Women's Soccer falls Friday at Southwestern

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The University of Dallas women's soccer team (3-10, 1-7 SCAC) fell 2-0 at Southwestern University (9-4, 7-2 SCAC) on Friday. The Crusaders allowed a goal around the 15-mintue portions of each half.

Sarah Bevins got the Pirates on the board at the 16:55 minute mark with an unassisted goal that would be enough to keep her team unblemished at home. She lofted the ball into the far netting in what was the second shot attempt of the contest – both by the home team.

Dallas posted one shot in the stanza with Chelsea Reeh (Boerne, Texas) having a ball blocked at the 25:37 mark. The Crusaders trailed 1-0 at halftime.

In the second half, UD countered two early shots and a pair of corner kicks by its opponent with three attempts of its own. At the 52:43 point of the contest, Kasaundra Eason (Henderson, Nev.) lifted a corner kick that set up Elisa Duran's (Pomona, Calif.) shot that was deflected by a defender. Lauren Hood (Bedford, Texas) registered the only shot on goal a few minutes afterwards.

Southwestern etched its final scoring result in the 60th minute on a header by Megan McGrath. Audrey Silver was credited the assist on a ball that came on a re-centered long cross for the finish.
