Women's Soccer unable to get by Schreiner on Friday's Pinkout Match

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas women's soccer team (3-9, 1-6 SCAC) allowed two goals in the first half, which was enough for Schreiner University (6-3-3, 4-1-1 SCAC) to secure a 2-0 victory on Friday. Both times in the season series, the score was identical for the Mountaineers.

The teams combined for five shots in the first 45 minutes, but Schreiner knocked half of its four attempts in the netting to gain momentum. Catalina Reyes beat the keeper left as Alex Gill passed her the ball to get what would be game-winning sequence completed at the 5:51 minute mark.

Time elapsed nearly 30 minutes in the stanza, before Kayla McConnell punched in a goal from the right side of the box. The cross came from the other side as Dani Loeblein knocked a good ball that set up the opportunity.

In the second half, the Crusaders mustered seven of their eight shots with the first four taken within just over a four and a half minute stretch. Miranda Lozano (Richardson, Texas) smacked the first look on frame, and the next three of were taken by Elisa Duran (Pomona, Calif.) and two were on goal.

Despite the effort on the home side, the Mountaineers held off any late scoring chances in this contest. Dallas held tight defensively, preventing the Maroon and White to increase the advantage. Even in the final 1:30 minutes, Elena Naccari (Covington, La.) outstretched for a glove save on a penalty kick.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

- Duran and Chelsea Reeh (Boerne, Texas) registered team-highs in shots with a trio apiece.

- Four shots by the Crusaders were on goal. Reeh had the other one that was not smacked in that early span of the second half mentioned above.

- Naccari (2-7) made three saves against five shots in 90 minutes between the posts.

- Schreiner outdid UD in corner kicks by one (2-1).

- Cailee Morgan posted half of the Mountaineers' shot attempts with six overall and three on goal. The other pair of shots on target were the goals.

- Jordin Toso (5-3-2) earned the win in goal by posting a clean sheet with four stops.
