2nd Half Performance lifts Southwestern over Women's Soccer Friday

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas women's soccer team (2-6, 0-3 SCAC) battled Southwestern University (5-2, 4-0 SCAC) to a scoreless tie at halftime on Friday evening, but five goals in the second half lifted the visitors. The Pirates had scored 13 goals in three games against conference opponents, but were limited to seven shots in the first 45 minutes.

Dallas did not have any shots until Kasaundra Eason posted a high one in the at the 50:51 minute mark of the contest.

The next attempt was four minutes later by Southwestern's Sarah Bevins. She was assisted by Mady Akers That netter proved enough for the Pirates, but after three more shots that included a pair of saves from UD goalkeeper Elena Naccari (Covington, La.); Akers connected on a goal from Kiara Morales at the 63:44 mark.

Southwestern had a trio of goals within a five-minute span from the 75th-80th minute that completed the scoring.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

- Dallas was outshot 18-8.

- Cascade Mayer (Kapaa, Hawaii) was the only Crusader to take multiple shots with two. One was on frame, and UD had four shots on goal overall.

- Naccari made six saves in 82:07 minutes between the posts. Olivia Severson (La Crosse, Wis.) made her collegiate debut and added a save the remainder of the game.

- Akers was one of two Pirates with a game-high three shots and notched six points with a pair of goals and assists.

- Shannon Lukehart contributed two goals and Morales added two assists.

- Mary Cardone had four saves in the shutout.
