No. 4 Trinity tops Women's Soccer Sunday

SAN ANTONIO,  Texas – The University of Dallas women's soccer team (2-5, 0-2 SCAC) fell 5-0 against fourth ranked Trinity University (5-0, 1-0 SCAC) on Sunday. The Crusaders trailed 1-0 through the first half, but were unable to halt a steady offense from the home team in the final 45 minutes.

The Tigers scored in the 13th minute on an own goal. From there Dallas kept the margin within just needing an equalizer despite allowing 20 goals in the first half to the opposition. Trinity struggled getting the ball on frame however, as only three of the first 20 that stanza landed on cage.

In the second half, Meredith Licata headed a cross from the right side that came from Julia Camp to double the score at the 50:49 minute mark. About 17 minutes later, Brigitte Taylor and Camp dialed goals in nearly a minute difference to increase the margin to 4-0. Hannah Hommel rounded out the scoring with a goal at the 89:44 mark.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

- Trinity held a 41-0 advantage in shots. Only 12 were on goal.

- UD's Elena Naccari (Covington, La.) tied a season-high seven saves for the third time this year and in consecutive contests.

- Trinity forced 13 corner kicks with nine coming in the first half.

- Meredith Licata posted a game-high six shots and Tierney Thomison followed with five.
