Women's Soccer falls in SCAC Opener at Schreiner

KERRVILLE, Texas – The University of Dallas women's soccer team (2-4-0, 0-1-0 SCAC) fell 2-0 at Schreiner University (3-1-2, 1-0-0 SCAC) on Friday. It was the both teams conference openers and the first half featured a scoreless deadlock.

The Mountaineers broke the tie at the 47:53 minute mark on a goal from Cailee Morgan. That counted as the gamewinner, as Morgan increased her point total to three with an assist on Chole Luna's goal in the early part of the 75th minute. Dallas was unable to find the back of the net despite five of six shots being put on frame.  

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

- UD was outshot 16-6. This included 10-4 in the second stanza.

- Six individuals attempted shots for the Crusaders. Included are: Chelsea Reeh (Boerne, Texas), Gaby Gonzalez (McAllen, Texas), Samantha Deitschel(San Antonio, Texas), Sarahi Osorio (Dallas, Texas), Mackenzie Vasile (San Antonio, Texas), and Elisa Duran (Pomona, Calif.)

- Elena Naccari (Covington, La.) tied a season-high seven saves against nine shots faced in 90 minutes between the posts. She now has 233 saves in her career.

- The Mountaineers had a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

- Morgan and Luna tied a game-high five shots apiece and Morgan had four on target. Luna and Dani Loeblein each tallied on a pair of shots on goal.

- Jordin Toso (2-1-2) nabbed five saves in the shutout.
