Women's Soccer falls 1-0 at Sul Ross; Host McMurry on Labor Day

ALPINE, Texas – The University of Dallas women's soccer team (0-2) matched Sul Ross State University (1-0) for total shots and shots on goal, but the Lobos' Maria Alatorre goal in the 10th minute was enough in Saturday's loss on the road.

Both teams had at least one shot on goal within the first nine minutes after kickoff as UD's freshman Chelsea Reeh (Borne, Texas) placed the first one on target in the contest at the 6:04 minute mark. Alatorre responded with the home team's first shot on a goal and Crusaders' junior Elena Naccari (Covington, La.) was able to secure the save. A few seconds after Naccari turned that ball away, Alatorre found the back of the net.

Naccari was resilient in the early stages, as the Lobos pounded three more shots on goal over the next six to seven minutes. Overall, the Lobos kicked nine of their 10 shots in the first half.

Dallas responded in the second half with the majority of shots attempted (7-1), but could not get anything past SRSU's goalkeeper Ashlie Rojas. In 90 minutes, Rojas captured eight saves.
