@UDallasWSoccer travels to San Antonio for SCAC Tournament

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of Dallas women's soccer team (9-8-1, 7-4-1 SCAC) takes on Schreiner University (4-10-1, 2-9-1 SCAC) as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) tournament takes off Nov. 7-9.

Dallas claimed the third seed and will begin the match at 7:30 p.m. versus the sixth-seeded Mountaineers. On the year, the Lady Crusaders won in both contests at each venue, both occurring in one-goal games. The match-up at Schreiner required overtime to settle a 1-0 result.

The Lady Crusaders had a solid record with SCAC this season, and are coming into the postseason off a 1-0 victory against Austin College on "senior day." In the triumph, freshman midfielder Mackenzie Vasile (Mesquite, Texas), netted her third goal of the campaign in the 19th minute to help lift the navy and white.

Freshman goalkeeper Elena Naccari (Covington, La.) earned the victory in the net, nabbing three saves, and garnering her fourth shutout on the season. Her efforts were rewarded by claiming this week's conference Defensive Player-of-the-Week recognition.

Dallas is tied for second in the league in scoring with 22 goals. Junior forward Nicole Johnson (Houston, Texas) paces the squad with eight goals and 18 points. A trio of players have notched multiple netters including: freshman midfielder Alice Nelson (Jackson, Tenn.) and Vasile with three each. Sophomore midfielder Cascade Mayer (Kapaa, Hawaii) rounded out the unit with a pair.

One of Mayer's goals occurred as the golden goal in the team's win at Schreiner.

The winner of Friday's match will advance to play Texas Lutheran University on Saturday. Kickoff is slated at 7:30 p.m.
