SHERMAN, Texas – The University of Dallas women's soccer team (8-7, 6-3 SCAC) fell 1-0 at Austin College (9-6, 5-4 SCAC) on Tuesday afternoon. An early goal in the second half for the Roo's was enough to nip Dallas, who has won five of the last seven contests.

It was an even match through the opening frame, as the Lady Crusaders held a 6-5 shot advantage through the break. The road squad would match that total in the second half, but Austin College managed eight to hold a 13-12 edge in the makeup contest.

Austin's Erin Eckart succeeded with the game's only goal, taking a pass from Tyler Marquez and tallying the netter at the 53:45 minute mark. The home squad would only need that goal to hold up, as the navy and white were unable to hit an equalizer.

A quartet of players posted two goals apiece for the Lady Crusaders including: junior midfielder Abigale Weisbrod (Mesquite, Texas), freshmen midfielders Mackenzie Vasile (San Antonio, Texas) and Alice Nelson (Jackson, Tenn.), and senior forward Nicole Johnson (Houston, Texas). Dallas tallied seven shots on goal in the setback.

Earning the win in the net for the Roos' was Franchesca Lozoya (9-6), who picked up seven saves in 90 minutes of shutout action.

Saddled with the loss (5-4) was freshman keeper Elena Naccari after allowing a goal and facing 13 shots. She did turn away three balls that were placed on target to keep the navy and white in the contest.
