IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas women's soccer team (6-5, 4-1 SCAC) got enough offense from a pair of goals in the first half, to help lift them in a 2-1 decision over Texas Lutheran University (4-7-1, 3-3 SCAC) on Sunday.

Dallas has won three consecutive contests and four of the last five. Both victories over conference opponents this weekend were decided by 2-1 results on the scoreboard. The win also slots the Lady Crusaders in second place in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference standings heading into the week.

Junior midfielder Abigale Weisbrod (Mesquite, Texas) got the home team off the snide quickly with a netter in the eighth minute of the match. It was her first of the campaign.

Texas Lutheran would outshoot the Lady Crusaders 16-14 in this one, but freshman midfielder Alice Nelson (Jackson, Tenn.) punched the goal that would provide the difference in a one-score margin.

Nelson continues a solid rookie season, increasing her total amount of goals to three. Fellow classmate Shawneé Pelletier (San Antonio, Texas) was part of the scoring sequence, collecting her first point in the midfielder's career.

The game-deciding score occurred at the 37:26 minute mark and lifted the navy and white to a 2-0 advantage at intermission.

Kelly Lochte would nip the deficit 2-1, on a goal in the 78th minute, but that was all the Bulldogs mustered in a half where they fired 10 shots.

Freshman goalkeeper Elena Naccari (Covington, La.) drew the start and worked the majority of the contest, picking up three saves in 60:08 minutes. She would earn the victory (3-2) allowing no goals.

Freshman keeper Tori Fleharty (Richmond, Texas) completed the final 29:52 minutes and gave up a goal. However, the goalie faced six shot on goals, and turned away five to preserve a crucial Dallas win.
