IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas Women's soccer team (3-4, 1-0 SCAC) rose to a 1-0 decision in overtime against Southwestern University (SU) on Friday afternoon. This victory snaps a three-game slide, and improves the club to 2-2 at home.  

In the conference opener, Dallas battled the Pirates (0-7, 0-1 SCAC) to a scoreless tie through intermission. The navy and white did outshoot the visiting opponent, 24-15, but was barely outdone 6-5 in the first stanza.

The Lady Crusader's shifted the momentum in the second half, pouring on 14 shots. It carried into the extra frame, as the home team shutout SU, 5-0, before senior forward Nicole Johnson (Houston, Texas) won the match.

Friday's hero increases her team-lead in goals with six on the campaign. The golden netter occurred at the 95:06 mark, and was one of a game-best, seven shot attempts. She also placed three of those on goal in the win.

Five players joined the action with multi-shot contests, with freshman midfielder Alice Nelson (Jackson, Tenn.) and sophomore midfielder Cascade Mayer (Kapaa, Hawaii) contributing half their four shots with a pair on the target. Junior midfielder Abigale Weisbrod (Mesquite, Texas) followed with three, and freshmen defenders duo Alexa Acquista (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Lauren Hood (Bedford, Texas) tallied two.

Freshman goalkeeper Elena Naccari (Covington, La.) recorded her second victory on the year with a 95:06 minute shutout. It was the first time blanking an opponent in her collegiate career. Naccari nabbed four saves while facing 15 shots.

Katherine Rodgers was a tough-luck loser in the net for the black and gold, allowing the game-winner and compiling seven saves against 24 shot attempts.

Dallas concludes a season-long, three-game home stand on Sunday, Sept. 21 with a match versus No. 3 Trinity University at 2 p.m. The Tigers (5-0-1, 1-0 SCAC) remained unblemished after topping Austin College, 2-0, on Friday to begin league action.
