Bridgewater College (VA) outduels @UDallasWSoccer, 4-2

Bridgewater, Va. - The University of Dallas women's soccer team (0-2) was bested 4-2 by Bridgewater College (B.C.) on Sunday afternoon at B.C. Soccer Field.

B.C. (1-0) outshot Dallas 20-5 in the affair, and Ashley Crossman tallied the game-winning goal in the 34th-minute on a cornerkick assist from Michelle Viegas. 

The Lady Eagles received insurance in the form of an unassisted Nikole Blackwell goal in the 57th-minute to seal the 4-2 triumph. 

Melanie Waters opened scoring in the eighth-minute when she headed in a rebound off the crossbar from the foot of Kelly Patterson. Five-and-a-half minutes later, Patterson gave B.C. a 2-0 advantage as she put one past Dallas' senior goalkeeper Brigid Hasson (Fairfax, Va.) on a 20-yard breakway.

Hasson ended the match with seven saves, while Kelsey Hecker needed just two saves in the winning effort.

Nicole Johnson (Houston) scored for Dallas in the 16th-minute from Rebecca Brunter. Johnson then assisted Michelle Carpenter (Sugar Land, Texas) in the 40th-minute to round out scoring for the Lady Crusaders.

Dallas will return to action Saturday in a 2 p.m. showdown versus Concordia University in Irving, Texas, at Crusader Field.
