Women's Soccer shutout for first time in 2012, as Lady Crusaders fall 1-0 at home to Austin College

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's soccer team (8-3, 1-2 SCAC) lost a defensive battle 1-0 to Austin College early Wednesday evening, failing to capture their second Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win of the season. 

In a relatively even affair, both teams landed seven shots on goal, while Austin College (4-4-1, 2-0 SCAC) took the shots advantage 13-12.

The shot proving the difference, however, came in the 49th-minute when Ariel Marder netted the game-winner from a Lauren Scott assist to fuel Austin College to victory. 

Senior goalkeeper Brigid Hasson (Fairfax, Va.) secured six saves in the losing effort.

Despite seven different Lady Crusaders landing a shot on goal, Dallas was held scoreless for the first time in 2012.

Dallas heads to Prescott, Ariz., for two weekend games. The first of which is set for a Saturday, Sept. 29, 4 p.m. (MDT) start versus Rocky Mountain College (Mont.).
