UD Women’ Soccer Wins at Home

The Dallas women’s team ended their drought with a 2-1 victory over Fontbonne University in front of the home crowd. The victory was the first for the team since the 2007 season and gave the team a record of 1-2 in the young season.

Senior forward/defender Lindsay Arrend (Napa, CA/Trinity Grammar & Prep) got UD on the board with the early score. Arrend, one of four seniors on the team, was assisted by fellow senior and midfielder/forward Kate Palla (Napa, CA/Trinity Grammar & Prep) to kick off the scoring. Fittingly, the Napa, CA natives were instrumental in UD’s return to the win column after a season long absence. Freshman midfielder Marie Meagher (Grand Forks, ND/Red River H.S.) accounted for the team’s second goal as the youth also played a major role in the 2-1 victory.

Next up for the Lady Crusaders is a match up against McMurry University on Friday, September 11. The women have three more home games after that before they head on the road for a September 25 game against Austin College in Sherman, TX.
