UD Womens Soccer Comes up Short in Opener
The Dallas women’s soccer dropped the season opener
Tuesday night against the East Texas Baptist University Tigers
falling, 3-0. Though the final score didn’t indicate it, the
Lady Crusaders played the Tigers tough, and8 to a deadlock through
50 minutes before allowing three second half goals. Additionally,
UD fared quite well by launching nine total shots to the
opponents’ 14. Senior forward Lindsay Arend (Napa, CA/Trinity
Grammar & Prep) led in total shots with three while freshman
Marie Meagher (Grand Forks, ND/Red River H.S.) led in shots on goal
booting two on net in two attempts. Senior keeper Jenifer Boryca
(Piqua, OH/Piqua H.S.) stopped only four of seven shots she
faced.
UD will look to rebound on Friday when they open at home to host
the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor at 5:00pm on Crusader Field.
