Crusaders Defeated by Converse

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team lost their non-conference matchup with Converse University 25-4 on Thursday.  They fall to a 1-9 record on the season.

The Valkyries got things going quickly with a pair of goals in the first minute of play.  They would make it 3-0 about three minutes later, followed by a nearly six minute span in which neither team scored.  Converse wouldn't be stopped for long, however, as they would go on to score 10 unanswered goals in the first quarter.

Sophia Haeuser got the Crusaders on the board in the second half, Gabby Dixon notching the assist and then scoring Dallas' second goal a few minutes later.  Dixon made it three goals for Dallas in the dying minutes of the third quarter, then four to complete her hat trick in the fourth quarter.

Haeuser maintains her title of leading goal scorer for Dallas with 16 goals this season, but Dixon overtook her in points with her hat trick, leading the Crusaders with 21 points on the season.

The Crusaders' final match of the regular season is this Saturday.  They will face Oglethorpe University (GA) at 12:00 p.m.
